350 years of peace, and now this

I have friends who, despite the best evidence believe that Iran is not a threat to anybody, that their nuclear program is for civilian power production only and that the peaceful people of Iran have not attacked anybody in 350 years. I think one of those precepts has now been shattered with the breakup of a jihad plot here in the US to assassinate the ambassador from Saudi Arabia and to bomb the embassies of Israel and Saudi Arabia. AG Eric Holder says the plot was "conceived, sponsored and was directed from Iran" and of course the denials have been swiftly forthcoming. With Iran a sponsor of Hamas and a silent partner with other jihadist/Islamist groups including Jemaah Islamiya, it should come as no surprise of the support and planning Iran would do in order to bring down the "Great Satan".

Some context to the glut of liberal bullshit and Islamic propagandists.

U.S. Says Iran-Tied Terror Plot in Washington, D.C. Disrupted

FBI and DEA agents have disrupted a plot to commit a "significant terrorist act in the United States" tied to Iran, federal officials told ABC News today.

The officials said the plot included the assassination of the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States, Adel Al-Jubeir, with a bomb and subsequent bomb attacks on the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, D.C. Bombings of the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, were also discussed, according to the U.S. officials.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said in an announcement today that the plan was "conceived, sponsored and was directed from Iran" and called it a "flagrant" violation of U.S. and international law.

"The U.S. is committed to holding Iran accountable for its actions," Holder said. He said the White House will be meeting with federal agencies before announcing "further action" in regards to Iran.

The State Department has listed Iran as a "state sponsor" of terror since 1984. Officials in Argentina have said Iran was behind an attack on the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires in 1992.

FBI Director Robert Mueller said the arrest of a suspect in the plot shows the U.S. will "bring the full weight of [the] law to bear on those responsible" and that "any attempts on American soil will not be tolerated."

The stunning allegations come against a backdrop of longstanding tensions between Iran and the United States and Saudi Arabia. In the last year, Saudi Arabia has attempted to build an anti-Iran alliance to push back against perceived aggression by Iran in the region.

Alleged Terror Plotter Claims He Was 'Directed By High-Ranking' Iranian Officials

The new case, called Operation Red Coalition, began in May when an Iranian-American from Corpus Christi, Texas, approached a DEA informant seeking the help of a Mexican drug cartel to assassinate the Saudi ambassador, according to counter-terrorism officials.

The DEA office in Houston brought in FBI agents as the international terror implications of the case became apparent.

The Iranian-American thought he was dealing with a member of the feared Zetas Mexican drug organization, according to agents.

The Iranian-American, identified by federal officials as Manssor Arbabsiar, 56, reportedly claimed he was being "directed by high-ranking members of the Iranian government," including a cousin who was "a member of the Iranian army but did not wear a uniform," according to a person briefed on the details of the case.

Counter-terrorism officials said they believe the cousin may be part of the special operations unit of the Revolutionary Guard, the Quds force....

And from Reuters October 11 by Jeremy Pelofsky and Basil Katz we hear this;

...Iran denied the charges. But President Barack Obama called the plot a "flagrant violation of U.S. and international law" and Saudi Arabia said it was "despicable."

Revelation of the alleged plot, and the apparent direct ties to the Tehran government, had the potential to further inflame tensions in the Middle East, and the United States said Tehran must be held top account.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in a Reuters interview, expressed hope that countries that have hesitated to enforce existing sanctions on Iran would now "go the extra mile."

Doubtful.

At a news conference, FBI Director Robert Mueller said the convoluted plot, involving monitored international calls, Mexican drug money and an attempt to blow up the ambassador in a Washington restaurant, could have been straight from a Hollywood movie.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder alleged that the plot was the work of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is the guardian of Iran's 32-year-old revolution, and the Quds force, its covert, operational arm.

"High-up officials in those (Iranian) agencies, which is an integral part of the Iranian government, were responsible for this plot," Holder told the news conference.

"I think one has to be concerned about the chilling nature of what the Iranian government attempted to do here," he said.

Only concerned, Holder? Just the basic, run of the mill concern for an ideology which has at its core the destruction of everything non-Muslim and the apocalyptic dogma which requires them to start the end of the world in order to bring back the mahdi and establish the 12th caliphate? You mean that kind of concern?

Finally, you knew this was coming, and here it is, faster than usual but if we didn't hear it blamed on the Jews we wouldn't feel right.

From Press TV October 11

"...These threadbare attitudes, which are based on the age-old and hostile American-Zionist policies, are a ridiculous show...Plotters of such manufactured scenarios seek to sow division and help the Zionist regime [of Israel] out of its current isolation.”

He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran was a establishment founded on Islamic ethics and values and that the country had always warned that the enemies of the region were plotting against it.

The only true enemies of Islam are Jews and Christians, Islamic ethics and values are the anathema to freedom and equality. Fighting against values such as free speech and women's rights is what makes Islam, Islam.

Take the time and read all three articles, the are eye-opening.

Actually, it's more like 2,500 years. Their nuclear program may well be for nuclear weapons - but Israel already has them, so who can blame them?

As for the Iranian plot to blow up the Saudi ambassador in league with Mexican drug cartel, it's so ridiculous its funny.
